Skelmorlie hit by industrial strikes but primary remains open
Skelmorlie can expect some disruption to public services today (Wednesday, November 30), as strikes take place across the country.
Council services, such as schools, care services and bin collections will be subject to severe disruption as a result of industrial actions by trade unions.
However, Skelmorlie Primary School will be partially open – one of only three in the whole of North Ayrshire.
While the council's Customer Contact Centre is expected to be operational, customers may face longer call waiting times due to reduced staff numbers.
Residents can, however, continue to pay bills online.
A spokesperson for the council said: “We will make every effort to minimise the impact of industrial action on services across North Ayrshire and are working hard to ensure essential services are maintained for vulnerable members of the community.”
Facilities are expected to be open as normal tomorrow.
