Skelmorlie Primary Summer Fete - A resounding success
Despite the inclement weather a good turnout enjoyed the varied stalls set up in the gym hall. Four hardy teams battled it out in the rain for the 5 a side Trophy which went to 'Liz's Quiz Team' beating the 'New Jannies' in the final. Special mention should go to the 'Dinner Ladies' who added glamour and humour to a very wet and windy afternoon. Within a few hours after the event it was announced that a figure in excess of £2500 had been raised for the School Fund and congratulations should go to Michelle Haggerty and her team for their excellent organisation
Perhaps they should take over the running of the Community Council as after five years of asking they have still to produce accounts of the two most recent Gala Days. The funds from which were meant to go to local groups. I am led to believe they were asked for a donation to the Fete but did not have the decency to respond. Surprise! Surprise!
